Happy Fourth!!

 Happy late Fourth of July!🇺🇲🤍💙❤ I hope you all had a happy and safe fourth. We were able to see some fireworks from our apartment so that was nice! 

This week felt like the longest week I've had on my mission yet. On Monday we went to Ralph's again so that was fun! On Tuesday we had to drive to Manhattan to meet the new mission president and his wife! We got to go to the chapel in the Manhattan Temple and drove right by Central Park, which was a good time, but getting there and trying to park was an adventure for sure. If you want the full story shoot me and email 😂 President Holmes, his wife and their son who recently returned home from his mission spoke to us and they showed a video of them opening their call, so that was super good! On the way home from the meeting we got to drive through China Town as well as over the Manhattan Bridge so that was pretty cool! 

The rest of the week nothing too crazy happened. We have a super awesome friend named Christeven who is progressing very well. He found The Book of Mormon videos on his own and started watching them as he reads it. Our friend Tiffany also is still preparing to be baptized but she is due with her baby this month so we aren't for sure when she will be baptized yet. We also found out a less active that we meet with has a son who hasn't been baptized so we are working on teaching him now! 

We were able to take some Book of Mormon's to our friends this week as well so that was good! 

I just wanted to share a miracle from this week for the spiritual thought part of my email. One of our friends is struggling with the word of wisdom. She has a pretty strong testimony of all the doctrines of the church and has met with a few sets of missionaries just has lots of word of wisdom things she's struggling with. She finally decided to stop smoking at night so she can get some sleep and be able to wake up on time, so the other night she prayed for help to not smoke at night. She texted us in the morning and said that she only smoked 1 cigarette, was able to get some sleep and wake up on time and get a ton done early in the day. She said, "Heavenly Father is awesome!" Prayer works!! Please if you are ever struggling with anything, pray! God hears us and wants to help us, all we have to do is reach out through prayer. 

That's something I've been realizing lately. We don't just need to pray for guidance when big decisions come and big trials come, but we should be praying ALWAYS for even the smallest things so we can be guided by the Spirit in our lives daily and accomplish the things the Lords wants and needs us to.
