Coney Island! 🏝🌊

It's has been sooo hot and humid over here in Brooklyn, but we've had a good week! Last pday we got together with the zone and went to coney island! We got some Nathan's famous hot dogs.🌭 I also got an email this week to start my plan in just a few weeks and it's crazy that I've been out this longπŸ˜₯

Our friend Sharls got baptized this past Saturday! He was planning to be baptized this Saturday, but some other sisters who cover our ward were having a baptism this weekend and he was ready so we said, "hey Sharls! Wanna get baptized this Saturday instead?" And he said yes! We are super happy for him. We met him our first day of the transfer on our way to Brooklyn on the train and the rest is history 🀷‍♀️

Kevin one of our new friends was able to come to church and he loved it! We are excited to keep meeting with him as well as our friend Cassie who was able to come to church and hopefully help them work towards baptism soon:).

We met a really cool guy William this week! We were out finding and hadn't really found the whole day. But as we were walking to our train to head somewhere different, I had a prompting to cross the street a different way than we were planning to go and we ended up running into William! We were able to put him on date on the street and he was super cool! He texted us right after and was grateful to have met us. Sadly he hasn't been answering now though so if you could all pray for William that would be amazing!

One of the friends I taught in Staten Island who got baptized shortly after I left came to the YSA ward this week so I was able to talk with him which was exciting and hopefully he will be preparing to go to the temple in September to receive his endowment which is super exciting! I hadn't seen him in about year.

That's about all for this week! I am so grateful to be a missionary in Brooklyn! This truly is Christ's church! If reading The Book of Mormon isn't a daily habit, I invite you to make it one in your own life and I promise you'll be 1000x happier:)

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

The Book of Mormon is Magic ✨️

This week was a good week! Last pday we went to the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges and got some yummy ice cream! And I actually have pictures this week πŸ˜‚

I was able to go on an exchange with Sister Christensen and I learned a ton from her! And we had zone conference this week! President Holmes talked a lot about the fall of Adam and Eve and the need for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Nothing in this life would be possible if it wasn't for our Savior and the sacrifice He made for each and everyone of us. I am so grateful for our Savior and the things that have been possible in my life because of Him. ❤️

Our friends are doing super awesome! Charles was able to come to church and is still planning to be baptized on the 30th and we have 2 other amazing friends, Rick and Elija who are preparing for baptism that day. Elija sent us a text this week after we had sent him the video of the Rome Italy temple tour and he told us how excited he is to go to the temple and help everyone around him have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. GOD IS TOO GOOD!

I love it here in Brooklyn and am excited for what the next 4 weeks of the transfer have in store!

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Brooklyn week #1 πŸŽ‰

 This week was a good week! I hope you all had a wonderful fourth of July! We were able to have a bbq as a zone which was super fun, and we had lots of good food! Don't worry, we played some chair soccer for the last time too! (;

Being in Brooklyn has been awesome! My new companion is Sister Wilcox! She is from Salt Lake and will probably only be in the New York Mission for one transfer before she heads to Belgium and the Netherlands. But we have seen so many miracles and I am stoked for this transfer and all our AMAZING friends! We cover the Brooklyn 3rd ward as well as the Brooklyn YSA.

We had a lady we called this week whose boyfriend is a member in Utah and she has already been to church 3 times! We put her on date for this Sunday, but sadly she wasn't able to make it to church and we want her to be able to come at least once here in Brooklyn before, but we are planning to still help her be baptized this month!

We also called someone that a senior couple had met and he is super cool! He was able to come to church yesterday and we had a lesson as well. We taught him the restoration and he said that before he even met the senior couple he prayed and asked God what church was true, and then he met them! At the start of the lesson before we could even say anything he started going off about how amazing church was and how they talked about baptism. He said, "Sisters I wanna get baptized!" He is on baptismal date for the 30th and we are super excited to help him prepare(:

And even more miracles! Our friend Rick came to church and loved it and he wants to be baptized too! We also met our friend Charles this week as well on our first day, heading to Brooklyn. He is super awesome and was able to come to church as well as our friend Cassie.

BROOKLYN TRULY IS BLESSED ❤️ GOD IS TOO GOOD!

I hope you all have the best week!! Love you all!

Happy 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²❤

Happy fourth of July! We had transfer news on Saturday night and I am headed to Brooklyn. I will be training a new missionary and we are both going to be new (We are being blinded or white washed in). Sister Stout and I are both leaving our area and she is headed to Long Island. I am excited for this next transfer and to be in Brooklyn! Please pray for me and my new missionary though πŸ™πŸ˜‚

Our friend Andre was able to come to church for the 2nd time and is working towards being baptized in a week so we are super excited for him! We are hoping the new sisters can continue to help him work towards it.

I also found out that one of the people I found in Bermuda was able to get baptized this week so that was really exciting to see!

Nothing else too crazy happened this week. We met some cool friends, but sadly a good amount of them didn't come to church.

We had mlc again which was great. Probably my last mlc on the mission. I always learn a ton! We were able to go to Manhattan for that so we were in the city at the temple chapel. It was good to be back in that area for a few hours and I ran into a few people I knew from there.

Something President Holmes has shared with us a lot recently is Alma 17:9. It's about the Sons of Mosiah and how they desired the spirit to abide in them. I read a scripture in 2 nephi 16:11 which talks about when we don't have the spirit it leads to destruction. It has had me thinking a lot about what I can do to better have the spirit with me and allow it to abide in me all the time. I invite you all to think about how you in your life can allow the spirit to abide with you more fully and I promise it will change your life.

Love you all and hope you have a great week! Hopefully I'll have some fun pictures from Brooklyn next week!
