Coolest Friends!

This last pday we were able to go out to a place called St. George's. Sadly a lot of things here aren't super open because there aren't cruise ships coming in and it's winter season. But it was still a good time and super pretty!

We were able to teach Alex a few times again this week and he is progressing super well! We joke with him all the time about him serving a mission and he is still praying about baptism. He truly is one of the most prepared people I have ever met!

Dennis is doing well as well! He was not able to come to church this week, but is still praying about and working towards baptism. If you all could pray for him that would be amazing!

We also able to find this really cool guy named Gerry this week! We found him door knocking and within not even a few minutes of talking with us he told us he has been praying for awhile to know what his purpose in life is. So we taught him the plan of salvation and can't wait to keep teaching him!

We had the chance to do some service this week for a members coworker and we taught her the plan of salvation afterwards! It was such a spirit filled lesson!

Recently I have been studying a lot about The nature of God and Jesus Christ. As I was studying this week, I came across a talk given by D. Todd Christofferson in December 2017 at byu, titled "Why We Need Jesus Christ". I love this quote from the talk,

"A while ago, a person who has been a member of the Church for many years asked me, 'Why do I need Jesus Christ? I keep the commandments; I’m a good person. Why do I need a Savior?' I must say that this member’s failure to understand this most fundamental part of our doctrine, this foundational element of the plan of salvation, took my breath away. 'Well, to start with,' I replied, 'there is this small matter of death. I assume you don’t want your death to be your final status, and without Jesus Christ there would be no resurrection.'

I talked about other things, such as the need that even the best people have for the forgiveness and cleansing that is possible only through the Savior’s atoning grace."

I am so grateful for our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ and that all things are possible through them! ❤

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Knock, knock, and more knocking πŸšͺ

This last pday we were able to go to Crystal Caves and it was beautiful! I don't think there's a place in Bermuda you could go that it's not beautiful.

We had a week of lots of knocking which made it a long week. But we were able to find our amazing friend Alex on the street! He already knows one of the members and we have been able to teach him a lot of the lessons already. He also was able to come to church and loves it! He is praying about being baptized in March so please pray for him as he prepares to make this next step. We're so excited for him!

We also were able to have a few member meals this week! One of the members took us to a place called Swizzle Inn and it was delicious!

Our friend Dennis is still doing well and preparing for baptism this next month! If you could all continue to pray for him that would be amazing! This week we gave him 2 quarters glued together so when he is trying to decide whether to come to church with us or not the choice and flips the coin, the answer is always to come with us πŸ˜…

We met this cool guy who has like 30 chickens in his backyard all in coops so that was a highlight amongst all the knocking!

We truly are seeing so many miracles here in Bermuda and I'm so grateful to be a missionary!

This week one of our friends, during our lesson with him told us that The Book of Mormon was powerful and that it truly could change lives. I 100% could not agree more. THE BOOK OF MORMON CHANGES LIVES! If you don't study The Book of Mormon everyday or haven't ever checked it out, I invite you to do so! It will change your life because I know it's changed mine.

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Happy Valentines day!! ❤πŸ’•

What a good week this week was! I was able to take my driving test last pday and luckily the guy was really nice, but I passed and now have a Bermudian license!! It's good for 10 years so I may or may not be moving back here one day 🀷‍♀️ We also were able to meet with our new friend Dammion for the first time on Monday and he is now preparing to be baptized in March! He was able to come to church and we can't wait to help him work towards baptism.

We had the chance to meet with another one of our friends and they brought their cousin along. They then both came to church and we meet with them after church. We were able to put his cousin on baptismal date for March and we can't wait to help him prepare now as well! Bermuda truly has some of the most amazing and prepared people I have ever met.

This week as we were knocking we met these 2 guys that were outside of their house. One of them, after we had a conversation with him told Sister Snow that she had promised him things in the premortal life and that we met him for a reason. He also mentioned that my spirit felt familiar. We met with him a few days later and he continued to tell us the same things. It was such a cool experience. We aren't sure exactly what will happen with him, but it was a testament to me that Sister Snow and I are supposed to be serving here together and that God truly does have a plan for all of His children!

We were also able to go to the branch relief society valentines party and they had a service auction. Sister Snow won a pedicure from one of the members so now she's gonna give is both pedicures and we are stoked πŸ˜‚

I loved this scripture as I read in The Book of Mormon this week,

2 Nephi 7:7

"7 For the Lord God will help me, therefore shall I not be confounded. Therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed."

This reminded me that the Lord will help us in all things, especially when it comes to sharing the Gospel! If we allow Him to help us we will not be confounded by man.

I love you all and hope you have the best week!!

Driving in Bermuda! Miracles!

Another crazy week this week here in Bermuda! Last pday we took our permit tests because we are going to be driving here in Bermuda! I also have been able to drive a few times and am taking my driving test today, so wish me luck as I drive on the left side of the road haha. After that we were able to go to a beach called elbow beach and it was beautiful!

This week we were able to meet with our miracle friend I mentioned last week. His name is Dennis and he was able to come to church as well. He truly is so prepared. As we met with him he mentioned how he felt like we were just bringing something out of him that he never even knew existed and that he kept thinking about our church a lot more than the one he usual goes to. We helped him realize that the reason he was feeling that way was because of the Spirit!! He is so cool and we can't wait to continue to help him prepare to be baptized in March!

Our friend named Maymay, who working towards baptism at the end of the month is doing well but is very busy and feels that something is holding her back. If you could all pray for her that would be amazing!!

We sadly were not able to meet with the family of 4 I mentioned last week, but we are still excited to help bring the Restored Gospel into their lives!

This week we found some very amazing people and the Lord always puts people in our path. There have been too many experiences to share, but just yesterday we went out to knock and saw a guy working at the gas station across the street that we felt we needed to go talk to. As we did we ended up teaching a lot of his coworkers who also were working at the gas station and they all just flocked to us haha. After that we went to take the bus home and called the bus service to see when one was coming and they said there were no more busses running on that route for the night. We were way too far from home to walk so we called a taxi and our driver was one of the bus drivers that Sister Adhikari has always been wanting to talk to. We were able to get his phone number, and although it wasn't ideal to take the taxi, God had a plan for us to meet him!

We also found out on Thursday that my companion would be heading back to New York... so this week was pretty crazy and she will fly back today... so I am getting a new companion, Sister Snow! She was someone I was told I may come out to Bermuda with when I was first asked if I would come out but I didn't have a passport and she ended up home with a broken foot. She recently got back into the mission after around 6 months of being home and now we are still going to serve here in Bermuda together. We may not always know God's plan, but it is perfect and His timing is perfect. ❤

From my studies this week I wanted to share this scripture:

2 Nephi 4:4

"4 For the Lord God hath said that: Inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land; and inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from my presence."

So many people in the world today look at the commandments as restrictions or things we "can or cannot do", but they truly are blessings in our lives to help us stay safe and pure. Our Heavenly Father never gives us a commandment that he won't provide a way for us to keep and promise us blessings in return. I invite all of you to think of one commandment you may struggle with and strive to keep it more fully this week(:

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!
