Already Week 6 again! 😳

This week was a good week! Last pday we went to a place called tiger sugar and got some boba. It was pretty good and definitely worth it. We also went to a place here in Brooklyn called Industry City with the district. We got some good food and then stopped by the Barclay's center! Pday was a good time as always!

Our friends Cassie and Carlos were able to come to church and they both are preparing for baptism on the 27th! If you could all pray for them that would be amazing! Our friend Kevin sadly was not able to make it to church so we are planning to have his baptism on the 20th of this month instead of this Saturday. But he's still super awesome and has been reading and loving The Book of Mormon.

We also had this random guy come to church with us who we met on the way to church! We cover a family ward and the ysa ward so as we were headed to the ysa ward after the family ward I asked this guy on the street if he wanted to come to church with us. He said yes and ended up walking up to the church with us! He kept turning back to me in the middle of sacrament meeting and saying, "I'm definitely coming here every week!" Haha.

We have one more week of this transfer, which means one more week with Sister Wilcox before she heads to the Netherlands. I am so grateful for this transfer and can't wait for what week 6 has to bring!!

This week as we taught one of our friends, he was asking a lot about Jesus Christ and The Atonement and he asked, "Why did Jesus Christ have to do it?" It got me thinking a lot about the Atonement and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He did it because He loved and loves us more than we could ever imagine. Because He wanted us to be able to change and become more like Him and our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and that He loved me enough to sacrifice for me, so I can overcome ALL things. ❤️ If you don't have a personal relationship with  God or Jesus Christ, I invite you to start growing that relationship and your life will greatly change!

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Breakfast SandwichesπŸ₯―πŸ§ƒ

 Hello Everyone!

This week was a good week! Last pday we went and got some good food at one of our members restaurants and went to a bbq place w some of the other sisters in our district. The sisters then wanted to find a thrift shop they had seen but they couldn't remember exactly where it was so we walked around forever trying to find it and ended up finding a different thrift store which was alright haha, but we definitely got our steps in.

We were able to meet with our amazing friend Carlos this week as well! He is preparing for baptism in a few weeks and has been progressing super well! He sadly wasn't able to come to church this week due to work but he really wants to come and bring his 7 year old son. When we met him on the street I shared with him that he could get baptized in a few weeks and when his son turns 8 in a few months he could baptized him! He loved the idea of that and we ended up sending him the Rome Italy temple tour video and he loved that as well! He's super awesome, if you all could pray for him as he works through the word of wisdom that would be awesome! ❤️

Our friend Kevin in the ysa ward was able to come to church again this week and loved it! We are helping him prepare to be baptism in just a few weeks. He has been reading and praying about The Book of Mormon and baptism and is just amazing!

My companion and I have decided that we want to work on better following the spirit in our missionary work and this week we saw a miracle from that! We got on the train and as we are traveling we talk to everyone in the train car and if we've talked to everyone before we get where we are going we'll just switch train cars. So we had that happen and we were about to switch train cars one way when I felt prompted that we needed to go the other way. My companion ended up finding this really cool guy named Kwame! He unfortunately didn't come to church either but is super interested and we are excited to teach him!

One of the spanish elders in our area sent us a super awesome referral this last week of a girl named Akilah. We called her and she told us that she hasn't been to church in a while but is going through a lot and feels like she really needs to go back to church. We asked if she had ever been baptized and she said, no but that she really wants to get baptized. We then invited her to be baptized on the 20th of August and she took a little bit to respond and come to find out it was because she was with a friend and we were on speaker, and the 20th is her friends birthday so she said they both wanted to be baptized that day! They didn't end up coming to church so they sadly can't get baptized on that day, but it was for sure still a miracle this week :).

Love you all and hope you have a good week!

Coney Island! 🏝🌊

It's has been sooo hot and humid over here in Brooklyn, but we've had a good week! Last pday we got together with the zone and went to coney island! We got some Nathan's famous hot dogs.🌭 I also got an email this week to start my plan in just a few weeks and it's crazy that I've been out this longπŸ˜₯

Our friend Sharls got baptized this past Saturday! He was planning to be baptized this Saturday, but some other sisters who cover our ward were having a baptism this weekend and he was ready so we said, "hey Sharls! Wanna get baptized this Saturday instead?" And he said yes! We are super happy for him. We met him our first day of the transfer on our way to Brooklyn on the train and the rest is history 🀷‍♀️

Kevin one of our new friends was able to come to church and he loved it! We are excited to keep meeting with him as well as our friend Cassie who was able to come to church and hopefully help them work towards baptism soon:).

We met a really cool guy William this week! We were out finding and hadn't really found the whole day. But as we were walking to our train to head somewhere different, I had a prompting to cross the street a different way than we were planning to go and we ended up running into William! We were able to put him on date on the street and he was super cool! He texted us right after and was grateful to have met us. Sadly he hasn't been answering now though so if you could all pray for William that would be amazing!

One of the friends I taught in Staten Island who got baptized shortly after I left came to the YSA ward this week so I was able to talk with him which was exciting and hopefully he will be preparing to go to the temple in September to receive his endowment which is super exciting! I hadn't seen him in about year.

That's about all for this week! I am so grateful to be a missionary in Brooklyn! This truly is Christ's church! If reading The Book of Mormon isn't a daily habit, I invite you to make it one in your own life and I promise you'll be 1000x happier:)

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

The Book of Mormon is Magic ✨️

This week was a good week! Last pday we went to the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges and got some yummy ice cream! And I actually have pictures this week πŸ˜‚

I was able to go on an exchange with Sister Christensen and I learned a ton from her! And we had zone conference this week! President Holmes talked a lot about the fall of Adam and Eve and the need for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Nothing in this life would be possible if it wasn't for our Savior and the sacrifice He made for each and everyone of us. I am so grateful for our Savior and the things that have been possible in my life because of Him. ❤️

Our friends are doing super awesome! Charles was able to come to church and is still planning to be baptized on the 30th and we have 2 other amazing friends, Rick and Elija who are preparing for baptism that day. Elija sent us a text this week after we had sent him the video of the Rome Italy temple tour and he told us how excited he is to go to the temple and help everyone around him have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. GOD IS TOO GOOD!

I love it here in Brooklyn and am excited for what the next 4 weeks of the transfer have in store!

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Brooklyn week #1 πŸŽ‰

 This week was a good week! I hope you all had a wonderful fourth of July! We were able to have a bbq as a zone which was super fun, and we had lots of good food! Don't worry, we played some chair soccer for the last time too! (;

Being in Brooklyn has been awesome! My new companion is Sister Wilcox! She is from Salt Lake and will probably only be in the New York Mission for one transfer before she heads to Belgium and the Netherlands. But we have seen so many miracles and I am stoked for this transfer and all our AMAZING friends! We cover the Brooklyn 3rd ward as well as the Brooklyn YSA.

We had a lady we called this week whose boyfriend is a member in Utah and she has already been to church 3 times! We put her on date for this Sunday, but sadly she wasn't able to make it to church and we want her to be able to come at least once here in Brooklyn before, but we are planning to still help her be baptized this month!

We also called someone that a senior couple had met and he is super cool! He was able to come to church yesterday and we had a lesson as well. We taught him the restoration and he said that before he even met the senior couple he prayed and asked God what church was true, and then he met them! At the start of the lesson before we could even say anything he started going off about how amazing church was and how they talked about baptism. He said, "Sisters I wanna get baptized!" He is on baptismal date for the 30th and we are super excited to help him prepare(:

And even more miracles! Our friend Rick came to church and loved it and he wants to be baptized too! We also met our friend Charles this week as well on our first day, heading to Brooklyn. He is super awesome and was able to come to church as well as our friend Cassie.

BROOKLYN TRULY IS BLESSED ❤️ GOD IS TOO GOOD!

I hope you all have the best week!! Love you all!

Happy 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²❤

Happy fourth of July! We had transfer news on Saturday night and I am headed to Brooklyn. I will be training a new missionary and we are both going to be new (We are being blinded or white washed in). Sister Stout and I are both leaving our area and she is headed to Long Island. I am excited for this next transfer and to be in Brooklyn! Please pray for me and my new missionary though πŸ™πŸ˜‚

Our friend Andre was able to come to church for the 2nd time and is working towards being baptized in a week so we are super excited for him! We are hoping the new sisters can continue to help him work towards it.

I also found out that one of the people I found in Bermuda was able to get baptized this week so that was really exciting to see!

Nothing else too crazy happened this week. We met some cool friends, but sadly a good amount of them didn't come to church.

We had mlc again which was great. Probably my last mlc on the mission. I always learn a ton! We were able to go to Manhattan for that so we were in the city at the temple chapel. It was good to be back in that area for a few hours and I ran into a few people I knew from there.

Something President Holmes has shared with us a lot recently is Alma 17:9. It's about the Sons of Mosiah and how they desired the spirit to abide in them. I read a scripture in 2 nephi 16:11 which talks about when we don't have the spirit it leads to destruction. It has had me thinking a lot about what I can do to better have the spirit with me and allow it to abide in me all the time. I invite you all to think about how you in your life can allow the spirit to abide with you more fully and I promise it will change your life.

Love you all and hope you have a great week! Hopefully I'll have some fun pictures from Brooklyn next week!

Onto Another Week 6

 Hello Everyone!

We're already going into another week 6... it's crazy that I've already been here in Bridgeport for that long. Things have been going well though!

This week had lots of ups and downs. Our friend Anastasia was planning to be baptized on Sunday and we ended up not being able to get in contact with her or her mom... it was super sad. If you could all keep her in your prayers that would be amazing!

We were able to have 5 new friends come to church this week though! One of them we didn't think was going to come, but a few days before church we gave him a pass along card on the street, AND HE CAME! He is the only person that has ever come to church from a pass along card. He is super interested in meeting with us and getting baptized so we are excited for him.

There was also a guy named Greg we met at the park this week and he is super cool as well and wants to read The Book of Mormon!

This week as I studied, I read in 2 Nephi 3, I read about Joseph in Egypt prophesying of Joseph Smith. It reminded me and deepened my testimony that Joseph Smith really was called to restore The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know this church is true and I am so grateful to be a part of it and get to share the truths of The Gospel of Jesus Christ each and everyday!

Love you all and hope you have a great week!

I am sorry I don't have any pictures again this week, I will be better at taking some.

Hair Cutting and the Usual ✂️

This week was a good week! Last pday we did as we always do and played more chair soccer and card games. Sister Stout also wanted me to cut her hair, so I did. It turned out pretty good! First hair cut was a success!

Our friend Anastasia is doing really good and we are planning to have her baptism this Sunday after church!

We also met a really cool friend named  Ralston. He has been going through a lot and we are so grateful we met him. We are helping him prepare to be baptized in a few weeks! He's super cool!

One day we were out knocking and hadn't been finding a lot of success. We tried to knock some apartment buildings and no one was letting us in. I said a prayer in my heart to know what to do and I was prompted that we just needed to keep knocking. The next building we went in there was a lady who had just come to see an apartment she had bought sight unseen and was with the lady she sold it too earlier that week and left her phone in her car. She is from Puerto Rico so she didn't know where to go and kept watching to see if anyone was going in or out so she could borrow their phone. We ended up being able to help her get ahold of the lady and she just recognized how much God was aware of her. It was a super awesome experience.

This is a talk I read this week that I loved! I invite you all to read it and listen to what the spirit teaches you!

MIRACLES πŸ’«

My weekly is written by a fellow missionary this week πŸ˜… hope you enjoy.

"This week was a good week! As always we played some good chair soccer on pday and brought others to our Savior Jesus Christ. Also MIRACLE ALERT we have this unbaptized child  named Anastasia!! Her mom is just now allowing her to be baptized!! How sick! We had interviews...President Holmes is awesome. Was over flowed with the spirit of God!

Mission life is the greatest thing ever. I have never been so happy!

Knocking doors all day bringing people to Jesus Christ."

This week really was a great week though! If you could all keep Anastasia and Josh in your prayers that would be amazing. Love you all and hope you have the best week! I know this church is true and I really am so grateful to be a missionary!

I sadly don't have any pictures, but hopefully I'll have some next week!! Love you all and hope you have a great week!

Soccer ⚽️πŸŽ‰

Hello Everyone!

Sorry this is gonna be a short one.

This week was a good week! Last pday we played chair soccer with our zone and I missed soccer so much!

We also had mlc this week which is always super good! President Holmes talked a lot about how we are agents for the Lord and how important it is that we know His plan so we can be the best agents for Him. I think this not only applies to full time missionaries but all of us, and how important it is that we know God's plan so we can better be agents for Him and help others come closer to Him.

We met some cool people this week as always! Our friends Jay and Boda are preparing for baptism soon, so if you could all keep them in your prayers that would be amazing! They both have a few things to overcome to be ready.

I am just so grateful for this Gospel and don't know where I would be without it. I love being a missionary!

Love you all and hope you have the best week!!
